The competition is taking place at the “Qazaqstan” Athletics Sports Complex and brings together some of the world's leading boccia athletes. Representatives from 24 countries are competing for medals and valuable ranking points ahead of qualification for the Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
Medals will be contested in individual, pairs and team events. Athletes from various sport classes are competing, including participants and medalists of major international competitions.

Hosting a World Boccia Cup event in Astana is a significant milestone for Paralympic sport in Kazakhstan. The tournament provides the national team with an opportunity to compete on home soil and challenge some of the world's most accomplished athletes for medals.
At the conclusion of the competition, winners and medalists will be determined across all categories. The ranking points earned by athletes will also count towards the World Boccia international rankings.
